Northern Saw-Whet Owl Spotting at Tifft!

An unusual wildlife sighting at Tifft today, a Northern Saw-whet Owl was seen on Rabbit Run East and fortunately hung out long enough for us to go out and get a good look. Such a cute little owl too! We all feel seriously lucky to have gotten a glimpse!

International Migratory Bird Day Celebration

Please join us this weekend, Saturday May 14th from 9-10:30 AM for a celebration of migratory birds. The morning hours are the perfect time to spot the many birds that call Tifft a home. Discover more about our feathered friends and their importance throughout the world by joining us for a hike and more as we celebrate 2011 International Migratory Bird Day. Non-BMS Members: $5

Welcome to the Annual List of Bird Sightings! Each entry is the first time a bird species is sighted at Tifft Nature Preserve. Please submit your observations in person at the Visitor Center (preferred) or to nature.tifft@gmail.com along with your name and sighting location at Tifft.

This is only a list of the first time a bird species is spotted within Tifft Nature Preserve during the indicated year, not a list of every bird sighting. This list mirrors the official list on display at the Visitor Center.
